  • Abstract:

    The first book of the 110th volume of “Literary Heritage”, dedicated to Ivan Bunin, contains unknown early poems and prose by the writer, his unfinished literary and critical articles, and a large block of correspondence. With the publication of this book, practically all of Bunin’s previously unknown literary works are introduced into scholarly discourse: early poems (including unfinished poems and sketches), the first publication of the novella “Passion”, stories from the “Dark Alleys” cycle, sketches and unfinished stories, and sketches and plans for the second volume of the novel “The Life of Arsenyev”. More than half of the book is dedicated to the unique correspondence between Bunin and his wife, which captures almost their entire life together. The book contains a large number of illustrations, many of which are published for the first time.
